Believe it or not, many products that claim to be pure spirulina are actually blended to either mask the flavor or bind the powder to decrease dust. At G’s, we don’t believe in labeling something ‘pure’ if it isn’t just that.

Are They the Same Thing?

No. Well, kind of. But not really.

While both of these can be healthful supplements, we, along with many nutritionists and veterinarians recommend feeding spirulina.

Spirulina lacks cellulose cell walls, so it is easily digested. Some studies say it is four times more digestible than animal protein, making it fantastic for all horses, from those that are malnourished to elite performance horses.
